Tiger Remarketing Services to liquidate Liberty Appliance’s inventory, parts, service vehicles and office equipment on May 24 in online-only sale.

LOMITA, CALIF. (5/18/12)—An impressive array of premium-quality appliances—including refrigerators, washers and dryers, ovens, hoods, ranges and cooktops—hits the block next week in a court-ordered auction of the assets of decades-old local retailer Liberty Appliance, announced Tiger Remarketing Services, which is conducting the online-only sale at www.SoldTiger.com.

The auction begins at 10:30 a.m. (PDT) on Thursday, May 24. The preview will be at 1859 Lomita Boulevard on Wed., May 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Checkout runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 25-26.)

In addition to appliances by coveted brands such as GE, Bosch, Kitchen Aide, Speed Queen, Maytag, Whirlpool, Blue Star, Crosley and Hotpoint, the auction will include the bankrupt retailer’s parts department, which includes a wide range of boards, motors, couplers, timers, valves, igniters, ice makers, trim kits and various used appliances. Also up for auction: Liberty Appliance’s service vehicles, including a 14-foot Ford box truck, Ford Aerostar van, Ford E150 van and Chevy 2500 van, and its office and support equipment (desks, computers, printers, phone system, flat-screen TV, hand tools, table saws, appliance dollies, manual lifts and more).

Liberty Appliance filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after serving its community for decades, noted Jeff Tanenbaum, president of Tiger Remarketing Services. “It’s always sad to see another local retailer succumb to the competition of big-box stores and e-commerce sites,” he said. “Liberty provided quality products and service. Now, the bankruptcy auction will provide the public, other dealers and builders a chance to pick up some of these products at bargain prices.”
